I love to shop!

I especially love finding that perfect gift for someone that is really different and unique - thus Savvy Skirts was born! Savvy Skirts, meaning Smart Women, has allowed myself and mybusiness partner (and best friend) Shelly to stay connected with all of the wonderful girlfriends we have met throughout our lives, and also has allowed us to meet many more new girlfriends in the process (like the cool Marmalade Pink gals!). For us it has always been about staying connected with other women and to share in the life experiences, both good and not so good, that we face with the ever changing roles we develop through life. As a scientist, I have spent many exciting years in medical research that has taken me from landmark breast cancer work, to the Human Genome Project, and even into stem cell research and forensics. My efforts have helped many in medicine, however it could not help one of my dearest friends, Vicki, who died of lymphoma.

Savvy Skirts embraces the special spirit Vicki had with her knack of always finding just the right gift to make people smile. Proceeds from our Savvy Smiles Girl Baskets and Savvy Society Online Parties are donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Vicki.
